Don Cox, 89, husband of Joanne Duncan Cox, passed away Monday, May 27, 2019, at GHS Cottingham Hospice House. A native of Greenville, SC, Mr. Cox and his family made their home in North Augusta, SC. He and his wife, Joanne, later retired to Tamassee, SC.

Mr. Cox was the son of the late Raymond and Jennie Cox. He attended Parker High School and was a graduate of the University of South Carolina, where he played basketball and was named All Southern Conference. Mr. Cox was a U.S. Army veteran and was employed by Miles Laboratories and Bayer Company as a pharmaceutical sales representative.

He was a member of Grace United Methodist in North Augusta, SC, The Sertoma Club and “Good Guys” Golf Group. In addition to his wife, Mr. Cox is survived by his son: Donnie Cox and wife Tena of Surfside Beach, SC; daughter: Carole Ann Cox of Duluth, GA; step-great-grandchildren: Tessa and Gavin. In addition to his parents, Mr. Cox was preceded in death by his brothers: Ray and Alan Cox; and sisters: Polly Bolt and Jenell Bales.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM, Thursday, May 30, 2019, at Davenport Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be private. The family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00 AM, Thursday, prior to the service, at Davenport Funeral Home.
