Lula Alliefair Loudermilk Rogers, 104, wife of the late William Roy Rogers, of 191 Grant Drive, West Union, passed away Thursday, May 9, 2019, at GHS Lila Doyle. A native of Walhalla, SC, Mrs. Rogers was the daughter of the late Alex and Ida Jane Franks Loudermilk. She was a second-generation centurion, as her mother also lived to be 103.

Following her retirement as a seamstress, she fulfilled a calling to houseparent young girls at Tamassee DAR from 1968 until 1975. Mrs. Rogers was a member of the Bee Keepers Association, and the oldest living member of North Walhalla Church of God. Mrs. Rogers is survived by a son: Bruce Rogers (Barbara) of Clemson; three daughters: Joyce Alleen Wilson of Walhalla, Helen Dottry Moore (Gene) of Anderson, and Janice Grant (Billy) of West Union; a sister: Ruby Addis of Walhalla; thirteen grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Rogers was preceded in death by a son: Morris Rogers; a daughter: Doris Kelley; six brothers: George Loudermilk, Lewis Loudermilk, Albert Loudermilk, Lawrence Loudermilk, Howard Loudermilk and Shirley Loudermilk; and two sisters: Viola Harvey and Gladys Addis. Funeral services will be conducted at 4:00 PM, Monday, May 13, 2019, at North Walhalla Church of God with interment to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM until 3:30 PM on Monday, prior to the service, at the church.
