Donald Ray Winstead, 81, of Evansville, passed away Saturday, January 19, 2019 at the Parkview Care Center surrounded by his family. Donald was born October 29, 1937 in Evansville to the late Kenneth Cleo and Zeta Amy (Koonce) Winstead. He was a graduate of FJ Reitz High School where he played football.

After graduating from high school, Donald joined the United States Marine Corps. He worked for Bucyrus Erie, Babcock and Wilcox in Mt. Vernon before being transferred to Framatome in Lynchburg, VA and retiring there in 2005.

Donald was a member of the Westside Nut Club. Surviving Donald are a daughter, Jeanne M. Winstead; two sons, Scott E. Winstead and Todd A. (Jennifer) Winstead, all of Evansville; a brother, Glen (Vicki) Winstead of Henderson, KY; grandchildren, Alexandria Winstead, Aiden Winstead and Landin Hawes and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Donald was preceded in death by a sister, Linda L. McBride; brother, Kenneth Eugene Winstead and by a niece, Leigh Ann Winstead.

Funeral services for Donald will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, January 24, 2019 at Pierre Funeral Home, Rev. Terry Gamblin officiating. Burial will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery in Madisonville, KY.

Friends may visit with the family from 3:00 until 7:00 PM on Wednesday at Pierre Funeral Home, 2601 W. Franklin Street. Memorial contributions may be made to the Semper Fi Fund, Santa Margarita Road, Building H49, Camp Pendleton, CA 92055. Condolences may be made online at www.
