OBITUARY Gladys Rice March 23, 1924 – January 17, 2019 Gladys Rice, 94, of Evansville, passed away Thursday, January 17, 2019 at her home. She was born March 23, 1924 in Muhlenburg County, KY to the late Samuel and Augusta (Brown) McGregor. She attended First Christian Church and Church of the Cross in Evansville.

Although primarily a homemaker, Gladys was especially proud of the 26 plus years and more than 8,000 hours she logged as a volunteer Pink Lady at Welborn Baptist hospital. She enjoyed writing poetry and working crossword puzzles. Gladys was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Rice in 1991, and son, Ronald Rice in 2015.

She is survived by daughters, Carolyn Sue Smith of Bremen, KY and Teresa Laffoon of Evansville; sons, David, Keith and Greg Rice all of Evansville, and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A Funeral Service will be 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 22, 2019 at Alexander North Chapel, 4200 Stringtown Road, officiated by Dr. Jack Eberhardt, with burial in Locust Hill Cemetery. Friends may visit Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
