On Tuesday, January 15, 2019, heaven gained a new angel as Darlene Marshall went home to be with the Lord. She was born January 5, 1958 in Henderson, Kentucky. Although we are going to miss her, we are thankful for her journey and memories – thankful for her strength.

“And we know that in all things, God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose”. (Romans 8:28) Darlene became a member of Jerusalem Baptist Church at an early age under Rev. T. L. Adams.

Darlene was educated in the Henderson County school system. She was a mother of five children and a grandmother of ten. She loved each and every one of them dearly.

Darlene spent all of her life in the Henderson and Evansville area. She was an adventurer. She loved the outdoors and was always on the go – even if it meant going on foot.

She was a great conversationalist and loved meeting new people. Darlene was the twin sister of Darnetta who parted this life on January 15, 2018. The two of them were inseparable.

It was rare to see one without the other present. Darlene was mourning the passing of “Twin” but God already had His hands on her too. He knew the two of them couldn’t be away from each other too long so He formulated a plan – a plan to bring Darlene home as well.

There was no better date than to take her on January 15th, the same date her twin sister passed. Darlene was preceded in death by her son, Anthony Marshall; two sisters: Darnetta Marshall and Judy Martin; and a brother, Michael Peden. Darlene leaves to cherish her memories her daughter, Kelly Marshall of Evansville; her sons: Chad Marshall and Jermaine Marshall of Evansville and Nicholas Marshall (Melanie) of Louisville KY; a sister, Gwen Floyd (Bruce); three brothers: Elder Jimmy Ware (Regina) and Robert and Richard Carter; 10 grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Services are Saturday, January 19, 2019 at 12:00 noon at New Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church in Henderson with visitation from 10:00am until service time. Burial at Oak Hill Cemetery in Evansville. Condolences may be left at www.
