Obituary for Donna Faye Claxon Shelton Donna Faye Claxon Shelton, 86, of Pendleton, passed away on July 20, 2018 at Rawlins House in Pendleton. She was born on March 5, 1932 in Anderson, where she resided most of her life. Donna graduated from Anderson High School, and earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Anderson University.

She worked for Delco Remy and retired after 38 years of service. She was a member of Whetstone Christian Church, The Pan and Platter Club of the Madison County Purdue Extension Homemaker Clubs, the Indiana State Federation of Poetry Clubs and the Madison County Women Republican Party. Donna was an avid reader who pursued a lifelong passion for learning.

There were no topics she wasn’t interested in but she especially loved books on finances, horticulture, poetry, music, alternative medicine and the environment. She traveled extensively and collected rocks wherever she went displaying them around her home. She planted hundreds of trees and wildflowers and enjoyed classical music, attending many concerts by the Anderson Symphony Orchestra.

Most of all, she was a devoted wife, mother, mother-in-law and grandmother who loved her family. We have many happy memories of wonderful meals around her large dining room table. All were welcomed at her home with a cup of coffee and some lively conversation.

Donna is survived by her loving sons, Tony (Diane) Shelton, and Mike Patricia) Shelton: grandchildren, Maria (B.J.) Rhea, Daniel (Michelle) Shelton, Andrew (Trish) Shelton, and Paul Shelton: and six great grandchildren. Also surviving are her half-siblings, John Claxon and Karen Lefler. She was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Charles G. Shelton; father, Emmett B. Claxon; and mother Wanda Ellsworth Jenkins.

A celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Burial of remains will take place in the Anderson Memorial Park. The family would like to thank the staff of Fallcreek Retirement Village for their loving care of Donna during her 5 years as a resident.

She was happy there and that is a tribute to them. Memorial contributions may be made to the Whetstone Christian Church or the charity of choice. www.
