Obituary for Mrs. Donna Garris Pitts Donna Garris Pitts, 61, wife of Joseph Lemuel Pitts, of 550 N. Little River Road, Salem, passed away Thursday, September 6, 2018, at Emory University in Atlanta, GA. Donna was born and raised in Cornelius, NC. She was the daughter of Charlene Fortenberry Garris and the late Ervin Garris.

She married Joe in June of 1974. They had a love of a lifetime. She was his best friend and he was hers.

Together they had two children and ten grandchildren. She was a loving wife as well as a loving mother, nana, sister and daughter, but she was also a loyal friend to everyone. She was disabled and was a stay at home wife.

Donna was a member of Salem First Baptist Church. In addition to her mother and husband, Donna is survived by her son: Josh Pitts (Shalana); daughter: April Riggs (Brad); sister: Mindy Foley; brother: Mike Garris (Dean); and grandchildren: Brooke (Josh), Mikayla (Bradley), Lucas, Sarah, Bayleigh, Braxtyn, Lana Pitts, Cora Pitts, Cade Pitts and Cole Pitts. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her brother: Joel Garris.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM, Monday, September 10, 2018, at Salem First Baptist Church with burial to follow at Salem First Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 PM, Sunday, September 9, 2018, at Davenport Funeral Home. Flowers are accepted.
