Obituary for Mrs. Barbara Darlene Rogers Dean Barbara Darlene Rogers Dean, 63, wife of the late William “Bill” Robert Dean, Sr., of 507 Highland Glen Court, Walhalla, passed away Monday, October 8, 2018, at St. Frances Regency Hospital. A native of Oconee County, SC, Mrs. Dean was the daughter of Barbara Pierce Rogers of Walhalla and the late Clarence Floyd Rogers, Sr She was known for her wonderful sense of humor and for cooking the best chicken and dumplings and potato salad.

She loved solving crossword puzzles and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Mrs. Dean was an operator at Valenite, currently known as Sandvik and attended Rock Springs United Methodist Church. In addition to her mother, Mrs. Dean is survived by her sons: Robin Rogers (Betty) of Seneca and Robert “Chunk” Dean, Jr. of Walhalla; daughters: Kim Ann Dean Pressley (Alan) of Westminster and Missie Lynn Cantrell (Robert) of Travelers Rest; brothers: Clarence Floyd Rogers, Jr. (Jo Ann) of Seneca and Michael Phillip Rogers of Clarksville, GA; sister: Marilynn Hause (Ron) of Walhalla; and grandchildren: Christian Pressley, Dakota Pressley, Matthew Pressley, Carrie Yeo and Luke Cantrell; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and father, Mrs. Dean was preceded in death by her son: Thomas Floyd Dean. Funeral services will be conducted at 4:00 PM, Friday, October 12, 2018, at Davenport Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at Evergreen Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 3:00-4:00 PM, Friday, prior to the service, at Davenport Funeral Home.

Flowers are accepted or memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 154 Miles Way, Greenville, SC 29615. The family is at the home of Robin and Betty Rogers, 465 Alberts Road, Seneca, SC 29672.
