Obituary for Mrs. Frances Powell Entrekin Frances Powell Entrekin, 86, wife of the late Harold James Entrekin, of 405 Mountain View Drive, Seneca, passed away Saturday, September 29, 2018, at her home surrounded by her loved ones. She was born June 22, 1932, and was the only daughter of the late L.F. and Allie Powell. She was preceded in death by her husband: Harold James Entrekin.
She leaves a daughter: Vandra (Jimmie) McDowell of Easley, SC; and son: Richard (Rhonda) Entrekin of Inverness, FL. She was the proud grandmother of five grandchildren: Cassie, Cheyenne, and Haili McDowell of Easley, Alex Entrekin of Baltimore, MD and Ty Entrekin of Savannah, GA. She is also survived by her brother: Lewis (Doris) Powell of West Columbia, SC.
Frances attended Seneca Church of God of Prophecy when her health allowed. Frances was employed for most of her adult life at the Sangamo facility in Oconee County. After retirement, she served as a loving caregiver for Harold, and her mother, Allie.
Frances was also a long-term anchor point for the Mountain View Drive community as she walked her companion dog, Boo Boo, many times daily. She was always ready with a wave, chat, or a bit of neighborhood news. Her spirit of determination was admired by all that knew her.
Celebration of Life will be conducted at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, October 3, 2018, at Davenport Funeral Home Chapel. The burial will be private. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 PM, Wednesday, prior to the service, at Davenport Funeral Home.
The family has one special request for those wishing to attend, Frances loved colorful clothing. Please wear colorful clothing to honor her. The family wishes to acknowledge the Mountain View Drive community for their enduring support of our mother.
The family also wishes to acknowledge the amazing support of the Hospice of the Foothills team during a challenging time for Frances and the family. The family would also like to acknowledge the spiritual support from her church, as she said many times that she felt that someone was praying for her.
