Obituary for Mrs. Betty Jo Pettit Baumgarner Moore Betty Jo Pettit Baumgarner Moore, 79, wife of George Berry Moore, of Walhalla, passed away Thursday, November 29, 2018, at GHS Cottingham Hospice House. A native of Anderson, SC, Mrs. Moore was the daughter of the late Arvel Buren Pettit and Mabel Crocker Pettit. She retired as a nurse and loved volunteering for church activities.

Mrs. Moore was also known as “The Cake Lady”. She was a member of College Street Baptist Church. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Moore is survived by her son: Rick Baumgarner (Carol Jo) of Easley, SC; daughters: Renee Brown (Ken) of Westminster, SC and Jane Bunch (Jeff) of Orlando, FL; brothers: Arvel Pettit (Geri) of Walhalla, SC and Leland Pettit of Walhalla, SC; sister: Frances Quarles of Easley, SC; six grandchildren: Taylor Baumgarner, Reagan Baumgarner, Kirby Brown, Jake Brown (Elizabeth), Griffin Bunch, and Emma Bunch.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Moore was preceded in death by her first husband: Arthur Harold Baumgarner; and sisters: Remel Oliver, Rilla Stancil, and Mary Braddock. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM, Sunday, December 2, 2018, at College Street Baptist Church with burial to follow at Heritage Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 PM, Sunday, prior to the service, at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Oconee Hospice of the Foothills, GHS Cottingham Hospice House, Attn: Foundation Office, 298 Memorial Drive, Seneca, SC 29672 or to College Street Baptist Church, P.O.
