Obituary for Ms. Nellie “Blondeen” Price Nellie “Blondeen” Price, 71, former wife and life-long friend of Tommy Price, of Seneca, passed away Thursday, October 11, 2018, at GHS Cottingham Hospice House. A native of Seneca, SC, Ms. Blondeen was the daughter of the late Ernest Owens and Lucille Melvina Marcus Owens. She worked as the former canteen supervisor for Jantzen and later retired from the Oconee County School District.

Ms. Blondeen enjoyed working in her yard and planting flowers. She loved and cherished her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and her family. Ms. Blondeen was a member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church.

In addition to her former husband and life-long friend, Ms. Blondeen is survived by her daughters: Wanda Roach (Dennis) of Walhalla, SC and Michelle Smith (Jason) of Greer, SC; brothers: Dwight Owens and Truman Owens; sisters: Mary Blakely and Bonnie Blakely; four grandchildren: Alli Webb, Jordan Gilden, Graysan Rogers and Caden Smith; two great-grandchildren: Braxton Webb and Kahnan Webb; special niece: Sherry Hester; and many other nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Ms. Blondeen was preceded in death by her sister: Verline Hester; and brothers: Alton Owens, Taurus Owens, and Thomas Owens. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM, Sunday, October 14, 2018, at Davenport Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at Oconee Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 12:30-2:00 PM, Sunday, prior to the service, at Davenport Funeral Home. Flowers are accepted or memorials may be made to Oconee Hospice of the Foothills, GHS Cottingham Hospice House, Attn: Foundation Office, 298 Memorial Drive, Seneca, SC 29672 or to Poplar Springs Baptist Church, P.O. Box 458, Walhalla, SC 29691. The family would like to give a special thank you to the staff at GHS Cottingham Hospice House for their love and compassion during Ms. Blondeen’s stay.
