West Yarmouth, MA- Donna J. Carlson, 64, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, October 7, 2018 at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Boston, MA. She was the beloved wife of 40 years of Richard J. Carlson. Donna was born in Torrington on November 8, 1953, daughter of the late Mary (Diaz) Visconti, and had spent her early years in Torrington, CT.

She graduated from Western Connecticut State University with a degree in mathematics. She had been a Southbury, CT, resident for 37 years, before moving to West Yarmouth, MA, several years ago. Donna enjoyed cooking, spending time at the beach on Cape Cod, and had a great love for cats, Snoopy and the Red Sox.

Donna will be remembered for her selflessness, unwavering positive attitude, and extraordinary strength. Survivors, in addition to her husband, Richard, include two daughters, Stefanie J. Carlson of Woburn, MA, and Tracy M. Carlson of West Hartford, CT. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, October 13, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 160 Main St., Torrington, CT.

Burial will be private. Friends may call Friday, October 12, 2018 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Gleeson-Ryan Funeral Home, 258 Prospect St., Torrington, CT. At the request of the family, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675.
