Donnie Dean Dial, age 86, of Glenmont, Ohio passed away Sunday morning, July 22, 2018 at the Holmes County Home following an extended illness. Graveside service will be 11 a.m. Friday, July 27th at Sunnyside Cemetery, Glenmont, Ohio where military rites will be conducted by both the Killbuck VFW and the Loudonville American Legion. Private family calling hours took place.

Donnie was born October 26, 1931 in Glenmont, Ohio and was the son of Charles Russell and Mildred Lucy (Kinsey) Dial. He was a Combat Engineer in the U.S. Army. Donnie was a life member of the Killbuck VFW Post 7079 and a life member of Loudon Post 257 American Legion of Loudonville, Ohio.

He retired from Briar Hill Stone after working 35 years. Donnie was an avid Cleveland Indians fan. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and listening to bluegrass music.

He is survived by five children, Larry E. (Jill) Dial of Big Prairie, Ohio, Christy L. (Logan) Russell of Howard, Ohio, Wendy L. Zollars of Millersburg, Ohio, Rusty J. (Diana) Dial of Glenmont, Ohio and Cory D. (Sheri) Miller of Holmesville, Ohio; 11 grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren with one more on the way; 12-step great-grandchildren; a brother James R. (Carole) Dial of Glenmont, Ohio; numerous nieces and nephews; and longtime friend, Sharon Kline. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Helen Simpson.
