Obituary for Doris Conder Thomson Doris Conder Thomson, 70, of Philpot, passed away Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. Doris was born on September 1, 1947 in Whitesville, Kentucky to the late Jody Conder and Ethel Wright Conder. Doris, a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, retired from the Daviess County Board of Education where she worked as a school bus driver for over 25 years.
She enjoyed raising chickens, quilting, farm work and her grandchildren. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers: Louis Conder, Vince Conder; and Charles Conder, and one sister, Barbara Conder Roberts. Doris is survived by her husband of 23 years, Joe Thomson, her daughter Keisha (Fred) Chism of Owensboro, and her son, Bryan (Tammy) Hamilton of Whitesville, Kentucky.
She is also survived by her stepchildren: Jody Thomson of Owensboro; Chuckie Thomson of Louisville, Kentucky; James Thomson of Owensboro; Anna (Jeff) Gordon of Nashville, Tennessee, Kaye (Kevin) Hurley of Louisville, Kentucky; and Jennifer Thomson of Louisville, Kentucky. Doris is survived by her sisters: Mary Rose Wellmier; Judy Connor; Mag Henderson; Ina Mattingly; Connie Coomes; Debbie Peters; Hope Brey, and brothers: David Conder; Jerry Conder; and Terry Conder, 20 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Services will be 2:00 pm Saturday, June 2, 2018, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, with Father Joe Schoettle officiating.
Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm Friday, June 1, 2018, and from 10:00 am to 1:30 pm Saturday, June 2, 2018, at Haley McGinnis Funeral Home & Crematory. Prayers will be said at 7:00 Friday, June 1, 2018.
