Doris “Dee” Butler Lawler passed away at Sundance Inn, New Braunfels, Texas on this day February 21, 2019 at the age of 88.

Doris is predeceased by her loving husband, Carl Henry Kluge; her fiancé William Cox, Bill; her precious Mother, Helene McGarity Butler Higgins; her amazing step-father, William Ewell Higgins; her loving brother, Virgil D. Butler “Sonny”; and her larger than life son, Dane Carl Kluge. Doris is cherished and remembered by her children … Her oldest daughter, Cathey Helene Kluge and her youngest Deborah Kay Kluge, “Baby Girl”, and her youngest son, Kent Darwin Kluge, his nickname for Mom “Mamacita”. Granny D will be forever carried in the hearts of her granddaughters, Anne Marie Bourlier, Vanessa Kay Graves-Hadlock, Julie Christine Bourlier-Hodges, and her only grandson, Lilon Cyril Holder Jr.; her great grandchildren, Jonathan Hunter Hataway, Kaelah Anne Hataway, Abigail Faith Graves, Jackson Cole Pant, Mark Lee Holder, and Madison Liana Holder; and her great great grandchildren, Adelynn Marie Johnson and Eli Scott Hataway.

Doris “Issy” is treasured by her two sisters, Claudia Butler Simon, and Cora Faye Butler Antoniou. Doris was born in Houston, Texas on 10 February 1931. She graduated from Sam Houston High School.

She worked as flight comptroller in communications for NASA for many years. Doris was instrumental for the success of Skylab and Apollo IIII. Also she managed Blue Sky RV park in Yuma, Az.

Where she taught country western dancing. Mother’s passion was dance. Every time she heard music her feet started tapping and her hands started clapping.

Never a harsh or unkind word was ever spoken. God loves her. In a private family setting, she will be laid to rest at Mountain Valley Cemetery in Sattler, Texas on February 26, 2019.

Doris, Dee’s “celebration of life” will be held at VFW Hall in Geronimo, Texas on May 18, 2019. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made at: gofundme.com/celebration-of-life-for-granny-dee-doris? www.
