Doris Almeda Stockner Webster, 88, of Asheboro, died Thursday, January 24, 2019, at UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, February 10, 2019, at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel, Asheboro, with Charles Reeder officiating. Burial will follow at Guilford Memorial Park in Greensboro.

Born on August 30, 1930 in Carroll County, Virgina, Mrs. Webster was the daughter of the late Rufus Lafayette Stockner and Anna Lavinia Semones Stockner. She was retired from Kayser Roth. She also was a master seamstress, fashion designer and advocate for children with disabilities.

She was a member of First Presbyterian Church and volunteered at Christians United Outreach Center. Mrs. Webster loved to play golf and traveled overseas to play. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Webster was preceded in death by her husband, James Webster, Jr.; son, Kenneth Baughan; and sisters, Easter Keith, Essie Nester, Virginia Hall, Clara Alderman, Edith Dalton.

Surviving are her daughter, Cindy Baughan, of Morrisville; daughter-in-law, Scarlett Baughan, of Asheboro; sister, Evelyn Carr, of Portsmouth, VA; grandchildren, Nathan Chefetz, of Washington, DC, English Baughan, Tabor Baughan, Eric Hockett, all of Asheboro; and great grandchild, Kimber Alexandria Baughan. The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:45 p.m. Sunday, February 10, 2019, prior to the service. Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society, 7027 Albert Pick Road, Suite 104, Greensboro, NC 27409.
