Ruth Ann Hamilton Elliott, 77, of Asheboro, died Tuesday, January 29, 2019 at Randolph Health in Asheboro. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday February 2, 2019, at Mountain View Independent Methodist Church, Asheboro, with Rev. David Hunt officiating.

Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Mrs. Elliott was born in Randolph County, NC, on July 21, 1941, the daughter of the late Colonel Mack Hamilton and Bessie Cooper Hamilton. She graduated from Farmer School, worked at Mid State Paper Box and retired from Klaussner Furniture.

Mrs. Elliott was a member of Mt. View Independent Methodist Church, where she was a “Prayer Warrior” and President of the Ladies Sharing Circle. She loved her church and God.

She was a board member of the Mental Health Association. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby “Cotton” Elliott; sisters, Linda Hamilton, Glenda Clark; brothers, Bobby Hamilton, Jimmy Hamilton, and beloved canine companion, Bear. Surviving are her daughter, Sharon Elliott of Asheboro; sister, Patty Trotter, of Asheboro; brother, John Hamilton and wife, Betty of Sophia.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, February 1, 2019 at Ridge Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Humane Society of Randolph County, P.O. Box 4384, Asheboro, NC 27204; or to the Randolph SPCA, 300 W. Bailey Street, Asheboro, NC 27203.
