James “Butch” Edward Weakley, 66, of Thomasville, died Friday, January 25, 2019, at his home. A memorial service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, February 9, 2019, at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel, Asheboro, with military honors provided by the Randolph County Honor Guard. Born in Guilford County, NC, on April 22, 1952, Mr. Weakley was the son of the late Edward Hubert Weakley and Estelle Brown Weakley.

He was retired from Ralph Lauren in Greensboro. He served in the US Navy during Vietnam. He enjoyed playing with his computer and his dogs and spending time with his family.

In addtion to his parents, Mr. Weakley was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Weakley and his infant sister, Brenda Weakley. Surviving are his wife, Theresa Weakley, of the home; sons, James “Jay” Weakley, II, of the home, Richard Weakley of Asheboro; sister, Evelyn Williams, of Indiana; brother, Leslie “Rock” Weakley and wife, Rhonda, of High Point; sisters-in-law, Gail Chance, of Thomasville, Monalisa Laucomer and husband, Ken, of Kansas; and brothers-in-law, Robert “Bobby” Buffman, of California, Michael Buffman, of Kansas. The family will receive friends following the memorial service.
