Ohatchee – A memorial service for Mrs. Dorothy J. Header, 71, will be held on Tuesday, December 18, 2018, from 6-8 p.m. at Regan’s Chapel United Methodist Church in Ohatchee. Mrs. Header died on Thursday, December 13, 2018 at her residence. She is survived by her children, Christy (Daniel) Brown and Richard L. Header; four grandchildren, Shelby (Shanda) Sanders, Chaleb M. Brown, Raegan Sanders, and Christa P. Brown; one great-granddaughter, Baila A. Sanders; three sisters, Ruth (William) Faulkner, Mary Lou Green, and Mandy Faulkner; and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Header was preceded in death by her parents, Roy F. Barksdale and Florence Pointer; her husband, Albert D. Header; one daughter, Tracy LaJean Sanders; seven brothers; and two sisters. Mrs. Header was a fierce and loving mother and an adoring grandmother. She was loved and well known by her community.

Mrs. Header was a member of the American Legion, the VFW and a former member of the Mt. Olive Volunteer Fire Department. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Cassie Rush, RN, Renee Lehr, Michelle Harrison, Chuck Ashley, Morris Taylor, Mary Moss, Amanda Vice, Brea Sherman, Wesley (Stephanie) Faulkner, Harold Barksdale, Wanda Faye Canada, Shelia (Rocky) Rockwell, and Chuck (Elise) Harris.
