Obituary for Dorothy M. Lakos Dorothy M. Lakos, age 88, passed away Monday morning, July 16, 2018. She was born July 11, 1930 in Muskegon Heights, MI to Michael and Bernadine (Hutta) Nic, Sr. On November 7, 1953, she married Samuel T. Lakos and celebrated 57 wonderful years together. He preceded her in death on January 23, 2011.

Dorothy was a legal secretary for several law firms in the Muskegon area, spanning over 40 years, prior to her retirement in 2003. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and had attended St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church. Dorothy had been the former treasurer of the Muskegon Women’s Club and for over 50 years enjoyed spending time with her friends group, the “Ruby Girls”.

She enjoyed socializing with her bridge group, golfing with her husband, Sam, reading mysteries, gardening, and playing cribbage. Her greatest enjoyment in life was entertaining family and friends on special occasions. SURVIVORS include 4 children: Deborah (James) Vanderweele of Fruitport, Catherine (Tony) Green of Canadian Lakes, MI, Tom (Becky) Lakos of Norton Shores, George (Dee) Lakos of Norton Shores; 8 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; 2 brothers: John (Judy) Nic, Martin (Diane) Nic; her sister, Sister Michael Anne Nic; many nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by her brother, Michael Nic, Jr. SERVICES for Dorothy will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, July 21, 2018 at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St., (231) 798-1100, with the Rev. Fr. Charles Hall presiding.

VISITATION with the family will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will take place in Mona View Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Kindred Hospice, the Harbor Hospice Foundation, or St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church.
