Born February 2, 1923 in Pittsylvania County, VA, she was the daughter of the late George Washington Parker and Julia Ann Oliver Parker.

She was married to the late Thomas Smith. Survivors include one daughter, Ellawease Averett (Claude) of Danville, VA. and a host of other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by two sisters; Lucinda Cunningham and Emma Hood, five brothers; James Parker, Plas Parker, Albert Parker, Sam Parker and Witcher Parker Family will receive friends at the residence, 422 Bradley Rd. Danville, VA. Funeral services are incomplete at this time and will be announced once completed.
