Dorothy’s Obituary Dorothy Mae Caldwell was born January 19, 1933 in Newberry, SC to the late Elouise Henderson Caldwell and Hayward McCord Caldwell. The family relocated to Winston-Salem, NC in the 1940’s. Dorothy and her sister, Nancy, attended Columbia Heights School and graduated from Atkins High School in 1950.

She moved to New York and attended the College of New Rochelle, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts Degree. Dorothy was gainfully employed as a Psychiatric Nurse at Bellevue Hospital in New York for over 30 years; she later pursued and received her degree in Social Work. She was preceded in death by her sister, Nancy, four months prior to her demise; she leaves to cherish her memory, dedicated caregivers, Janifer Southerland, Claudia Fuller, Vanessa Paige and Clarissa Lowery; cousins, friends and her church family.

Funeral service will be held Friday, May 17, 2019 at 12:00 Noon; Visitation at 11:30 am at Mount Sinai Full Gospel Deliverance Center, 2721 Manchester St., Winston-Salem, NC. Rev. Yvonne H. Hines, officiating.
