Obituary for Dorothy Stalnaker Dorothy Harris Stalnaker, 94, of Shinnston passed away Wednesday August 1, 2018 at her home. She was born on November 11, 1923 in Little Bingamon WV, a daughter of the late Frank Lesley Bowman and Beryle Hess Farquer McDougal. Dorothy is survived by, her daughter Connie Harris Allman and her husband Harry L. Allman of Havre de Grace, MD; two grandchildren Amie S. Lindsay of Ft.

Wayne Indiana, and Ginger R. Wessel of Havre de Grace; three great grandchildren, Macie Starr Lindsay, Mallory Rae Lindsay, and Owen Mark Lindsay, all of Ft. Wayne, IN; her half-brother, Harold Lee Bowman of McDonald PA, and several nieces and nephews. Dorothy was a 1941 graduate of Mannington High School, and attended Fairmont Business College.

On December 18, 1941 She married the late Richard P. Harris with whom she shared 52 years, and then the late Delbert Stalnaker. During the 1940’s and 1950’s she was employed as a book keeper for the Federal Reserve Bank in Salt Lake City, Utah and later for George Hall at the Shinnston Finance and the Shinnston Motor Company. Before Moving to Macedonia, Ohio, in 1952 she was employed by A.L. Vincent Lumber Company.

During the 34 years in Ohio Dorothy was employed as Accountant and Treasurer for several companies and Assistant Controller for Black & Decker Dorothy was a member of the Macedonia United Methodist Church and then later the First United Methodist Church of Shinnston, where she served on the Board and several committees of which Evangelism was her love. She was a member of Pastor Don Bartow’s Spiritual Healing Ministry of Canton, Ohio, and taught the Healing Ministry in Ohio, Pennsylvania, Indiana, and West Virginia.

Dorothy has taught the Bible and been an Intercessory Prayer Leader for over 30 years. In addition to her two husbands and parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by her brother Frank L. Bowman Jr, her step brother’s Calvin Farquer, Roy Lee Farquer, Eugene Farquer, Eugene McDougal and her step sister, Thelma Brown. Friends will be received at the Harmer Funeral Home in Shinnston on Sunday August 5, 2018 from 2:00 PM -8:00 PM.

A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Monday at 11:00 AM with Pastor Max Palmer and Rev. Cindy Boggs officiating. Interment will follow at the Wyatt IOOF Cemetery.
