Obituary for Edna Pearl Drain (Newbrough) Print Edna Pearl Drain, 79, of Shinnston, passed away at 1:55pm, Thursday, January 24, 2019 at the United Hospital Center, Bridgeport. She was born in Bingamon, March 12, 1939, a daughter of the late Hershel Newbrough and the late Alice Marie Lindsey Drummond. On September 23, 1955, she married Earlen Bates “Pete” Drain, who preceded her in death on October 4, 2006.
Surviving are two sons, Earlen W. “Bub” Drain and his wife Kimberly, O’Dells Knob, Steve Drain and his wife Cindy, Bingamon, four daughters, Dottie Marie Postlethwait, Shinnston, Helon “Sis” Postlethwait and her husband John, Stringtown, Becky Hamilton and her husband Sam, Shinnston, Christine “Chris” Arnett and her husband Scott, Pine Bluff, her grandchildren, Angel Fluharty and her husband Donald and their children, Dawson, Cheyenne and Dalton and Cody Fluharty and his companion Kaitlyn and their daughter Miley Marie; Jacob Postlethwait and his wife Amy and their children, Hanna, Sierra, Olivia, and Amelia; William Postlethwait and his wife Debbie and their children, Bridget, Richard, and Trenton; Shelly Martin and her husband John and their son Caleb; Wendy Hundley and her husband Scott; Kimberly Postlethwait and her children, Ally and Logan; Tanya Muzydla and her husband Kevin; John Alan Postlethwait and his wife Krista and their son, Jack; Sabrina Jo Grubb and her husband Jason and their son, Carter; Josh Arnett and his companion Becca Pushinsky; Jessica Wright and her husband David and their children, Chandiah, Jarrett, Waylon, Alba Jane, and Hazel; Jamie Arnett and his wife Elizabeth; Tiffany Newbrough; Justin Newbrough; and one she considered a grandchild, Madaline Pushinsky. Edna is also survived by her siblings, Raymond Newbrough and his wife Eileen and Polly Newbrough, her brother-in-law Roger “Butch” Drain and his wife Mary, and several nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind her loving companion “Puddles”.
She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Donnie and Robert Newbrough. Edna was a homemaker and formerly attended the Blueville Church of the Nazerne. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She enjoyed watching gameshows and the Gaither Homecoming Series. In their younger years, she and her husband enjoyed driving through the mountains on day trips. She loved springtime when everything started coming to life.
The family will receive friends at the Perine Funeral Home, 1348 S. Pike St., Shinnston, from 2-8pm, Sunday, where funeral services will be held at 1pm, Monday, January 28, with Rev. Charles McDonald officiating. Interment will be in the Fortney Cemetery in Marion County.
