Douglas J. Ross, of Gloucester, passed away on December 31, 2018. Douglas was born on January 6, 1947, beloved son of the late Donald J. and Emily Ross. Douglas leaves behind his son Brian Trevor Ross; his former wife Judith Ross Chandler; dear friends Mary Ann & Bob Koller, Gerard Donovan; and many additional friends and family.

Doug was a graduate of Gloucester High School with the Class of 1965 and attended U Mass. In his younger years he was a competitive diver in college and excellent skier. Later in life Doug earned his Bachelor of Science Degree from Salem State College while working full time.

He worked as an Industrial Engineer for several local companies including LePages and O’Donnell-Usen. He also earned his Real Estate License and sold homes locally. Doug could be seen walking his dog “Lacey” all over Rocky Neck.

He also took great pride in renovating his family home. During his retirement, Doug traveled extensively and especially took great joy in taking a Caribbean Cruise with his son Brian. Doug was a member of the Rocky Neck Art Association and was also a member of the Gloucester Lodge of Elks.

His graveside service will be held on Saturday, January 5th at 10:30 a.m. in Calvary Cemetery. Extended family and friends are cordially invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. in the Greely Funeral Home, 212 Washington Street, Gloucester.
