Randolph C “Randy” Perrin Jr. 89, of Somerville, MA, longtime companion of Joanna Crowley, passed away on Saturday, February 23, 2019 in the Dexter House in Malden, MA with the love of his life at his side. Randy was born in Gloucester, MA on July 17, 1929, the son of the late Randolph C. and Lydia F. (Rogers) Perrin. He graduated from Gloucester High School and continued his education at Wentworth Aeronautical Institute in Boston, MA.

Randy joined the U.S. Air Force for four years. He came back to Gloucester and met and married Bernice Powers. After being married for several years Beatrice died.

He was an arborist for many years and enjoyed climbing and working in nature’s trees. Randy had a love of life that rivaled anyone’s zest for adventure and was an extremely active person. He could be found skiing at Bretton Woods, scuba diving off of Niles Beach and Cape Ann, out on the water in his speedboat, The Blue Angel, riding on his motorcycle and country line dancing at The Classic on Route 1.

It was there that he met and fell in love with his sweetheart Joanna and spent the next 25 years with her going to Key West, motorcycling, country line dancing and trips to Hawaii. They were inseparable. They even went open cockpit flying in Stowe, MA many times.

He always loved coming back to his hometown of Gloucester. A happy guy, he will be missed terribly by Joanna and his many relatives and friends. He is survived by Joanna; his six siblings, Kenneth Perrin and his wife Jeannette, Dolores Perrin, Loretta Lopez, Diana Lauranzano, Joyce McMillan and her husband Douglas and Ronald Perrin and his wife Margaret (deceased).

He also leaves many nieces, nephews and many great nieces and nephews. Randy had no children of his own, but was very much a part of the kids in the Perrin Family. He was predeceased by his first wife Bernice.

As Randy would say, Aloha Nui Loa, Hang Loose. His visiting hours will be held in the Greely Funeral Home, 212 Washington St. Gloucester, MA on Friday, March 1, 2019 from 10-12 noon. Family and friends are cordially invited.

His service will be in the funeral home at noon with his burial to follow in Calvary Cemetery, Gloucester. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to: www. arborday.org and click on donate.
