Watkins officiating. Private family burial will follow in the Hydro Masonic Cemetery, Hydro, Oklahoma, under direction of Becker-Rabon Funeral Home. Dr. Arnold L. “Bud” Boyd, age 78, Lawton, passed away Monday, February 4, 2019 in Norman, Oklahoma.

He was born August 17, 1940 in Vici, Oklahoma, to Hugh and Audrey Boyd. Bud grew up in Vici and was a 1958 graduate of Vici High School. He graduated from Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford, Oklahoma in 1962 and received his D.D.S. degree from the University of Missouri at Kansas City, Missouri in 1966.

He married Corrine Vincent on June 16, 1961 in Hydro and to the union two sons were born. Bud served as a captain in the Dental Corp from 1966 to 1968 at Fort Sill, Oklahoma. He then had a dental practice in Lawton for 35 years.

He was a member of First Baptist Church for 50 years. Following his retirement in 2000 he volunteered with the Baptist Builders, Disaster Relief and participated in several Medical Dental Mission trips to Central America. His greatest pleasures were spending time with his family and his church family whether working on a project, going on golf outings or hunting trips.

He is survived by his wife, Corrine Boyd; two sons and daughters-in-law, Aaron Boyd and wife Tanja, Edmond, Oklahoma and David Boyd and wife Rachel, Alma, Arkansas; seven grandchildren, Dalyn, Ty, Philip, Hank, Cole, Dawson and Emma; sister, Shirlene Cunningham; brother-in-law, Sonny Vincent and his wife Becky; many nieces and nephews. His parents, two brothers, an infant sister and his mother-in-law and father-in-law, preceded him in death. Memorial contributions for the Baptist Builders or Missions may be made to First Baptist Church, 501 SW B Avenue, Lawton, Oklahoma 73501.
