Saturday, March 30, 2019 at Letitia Baptist Church, 2602 OK-65, Lawton, Oklahoma. Arrangements are under the direction of Becker-Rabon Funeral Home, 1502 Fort Sill Blvd. , Lawton, Oklahoma.

The family will greet friends from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Friday, March 29, 2019 at the funeral home. Monta Rae Nottingham, 73, passed away Tuesday, March 26, 2019. Monta Rae was born November 7, 1945 in Lawton, Oklahoma to Don and Martha Recer.

She graduated Lawton High School in 1964. She married her husband of almost 54 years, James C. Nottingham, a year later on April 9th, 1965 in an intimate ceremony at Lawton View Memorial Church. Monta Rae is preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Lana Recer, and her nephew Jeremy Rose.

Along with her husband, she is survived by her sister, Suzanne Recer and her husband, Benito Galindo, four children; Tracy Nottingham-Gibson, and her husband, P.J., Jimmy Nottingham, and wife Van, Kelly Nottingham-Smith and husband, Ty, and Janay Nottingham-Roberts, and husband, Terry. Eight Grandchildren; Deryk and Xander Gibson, Chris and Brandon Nottingham, Alex Smith, and Chris, Dillon, and Zachary Roberts, and numerous nephews, cousins, and friends. Professionally, Monta Rae spent many years working at the Museum of the Great Plains, Halliburton, as well as various accounting and professional positions.

The great of joy in Monta Rae’s life was the care and nurturing she gave to her family and friends. She loved cooking and bringing everyone together at her home in Marlow, OK. Her quirky sense of humor and unique light made everyone around her feel special.
