Kerry Glasgow and Alvin Funkhouser officiating. Burial will follow in the Mountain Park Cemetery under direction of Becker-Rabon Funeral Home of Snyder.
The family will greet friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home in Snyder. Don Dwayne M c Phail passed away Saturday, February 2, 2019 in Snyder. He was born May 17, 1934 on his parents’ farm in Mountain Park, Oklahoma.
Don started school at Snyder Elementary. He was very athletic and played basketball as well as other sports. He graduated high school in Mountain Park in 1953 and then attended Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford.
Returning home, he married Ola Faye Cude on May 14, 1954 in Mountain Park. She preceded him in death on March 8, 2014. Don farmed the land as his father had before him.
He farmed about twenty years and because of his college experience he went to work for the State of Oklahoma as a livestock inspector. In 1979 he started working for the U.S.D.A. as a livestock inspector and worked all over the country, retiring in 2000.
Following his retirement he continued farming and raising cattle. He had served on the Mountain Park school board for many years and was a strong advocate for education. Don was instrumental in the development of Tom Steed Lake and was a founding member of the Mountain Park Lions Club where he served as president.
He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge and had been a member of the Young Democrats. Don was a member of the Mountain Park Baptist Church. He was baptized at an early age and held firm to his faith his whole life.
Don was a gentleman’s gentleman. He is survived by his children, Daryla Bradford and husband Joe, Chickasha, Oklahoma, Dallas M c Phail and wife Jean Ann, Mountain Park, Oklahoma, Cindi Lawrence and husband John, Chickasha, Oklahoma and Mark M c Phail and wife Carol, Snyder; nine grandchildren and their spouses, Dewaina and Chad Edge, Brooke Kimbrough, Dee and Jeff Warren, Dayton and Pearl M c Phail, Dillon M c Phail, Amanda and Greg Holt, Blake Woodall, Denver and Sarah M c Phail and Mack M c Phail; 16 Great Grandchildren; and his brother, Paul M c Phail, Lubbock, Texas. His parents, Omer and Allinette (Preston) M c Phail and two brothers, Gene M c Phail and Willis M c Phail, preceded him in death.
