Eddie Tharp “Thumper”, 71, passed away Thursday, February 14, 2019 at Kansas Heart Hospital in Wichita. He was born August 14, 1947 to Raymond Lee and Doris Dovie (Smith) Tharp in Deport, Texas. On June 28, 1969, he married Jean Marie (Brady) Tharp.

She survives. Thumper served on Township 12 Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department for more than 20 years. He was a member of Kilwinning Masonic Lodge #265.

He was the owner/operator of Central Glass. He was an avid bowler for several years and served as an officer with the Bowling Association. He enjoyed watching sports, coaching youth activities and taught Hunter Safety.

He is survived by his wife, Jean; daughters, Stacie Tharp and Emily Pflughoft both of Pratt; sisters, Betty (Robert Stroeber) Holmes of Aurora, Colorado, Linda (Jim) Garrigus of Douglass and Cindy (Bruce) Warren of Attica; grandson, Preston Weaver-Tharp; and great grandsons, Preston and Matthew Weaver. He was preceded in death by his parents. Cremation has taken place.

Visitation will be Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. with family receiving friends from 6-8 at Larrison Mortuary, 300 Country Club Road, Pratt. Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, February 21, 2019 at Pratt First United Methodist Church with Pastor Marvin Ewertt and John Hamm presiding. Inurnment will follow at a later time at Lerado Cemetery, Lerado.

Memorials may be made to Pratt Area Humane Society, Pratt Recreation Department or Circles of Hope in care of Larrison Mortuary.
