Edward A. Heromin, 73, of Bonneauville, PA, entered God’s eternal care surrounded by his family, on Tuesday, July 10, 2018 at the Genesis Center, Gettysburg, PA. Born September 1, 1944 in Shamokin, PA, he was the son of the late Anthony and Cecelia (Kowalewski) Heromin. Edward was the loving husband of Barbara A. (Lastoskie) Heromin with whom he shared fifty-one years of marriage.

In 1962 Edward graduated from Mt. Carmel High School and was a track and field athlete. He then worked for five years at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, PA as a Certified Lab Assistant after which he entered the 17th Cadet Class of the Pennsylvania State Police Academy in l967 graduating first in his class.

He served as a Pennsylvania State Trooper for over thirty-seven years, having worked at the Gettysburg, McConnellsburg and York Barracks, before returning to the Gettysburg Barracks. During that time he was promoted and finished his career with the PSP as a corporal. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police, the Retired State Troopers Association, the Catholic War Veterans of Bonneauville, and the Gettysburg Moose Lodge #1526.

Edward loved sports, reading, doing crossword puzzles, boating, fishing and traveling. Besides being a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather, he enjoyed spending time with his family & especially cherished his time with his grandchildren. In addition to his loving wife, Barbara, Edward is survived by his sons, Mark A. Heromin of Hanover, PA; Matthew A. Heromin and wife Julie of York, PA; two grandchildren, Madison R. Heromin and Joshua A. Heromin; two brothers, Henry Heromin of Cherry Hill, NJ; Stephen Heromin and wife Jackie of Harrisburg, PA; and one sister, Veronica Oliveri of Acton, CA.

A Mass of Christian Burial to celebrate and remember Edward will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, July 14, 2018 at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, 12 East Hanover Street, Gettysburg (Bonneauville), PA, with Father Benny Jose as Celebrant. A viewing and time to share memories with the family will be held from 6:00-8:00 PM, Friday, July 13, 2018 at the Kenworthy Funeral Home, Inc., 66 East Hanover Street, Gettysburg (Bonneauville), PA, and prior to the funeral mass on Saturday. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Edward’s name to St. Joseph the Worker Church, (Bonneauville), Gettysburg, PA. The Kenworthy Funeral Home, Inc., 66 East Hanover Street, Gettysburg, (Bonneauville), PA has been entrusted by the family with the funeral arrangements.
