Edward’s Obituary Mr. Edward Clarke, Jr. was born January 2, 1957 in Jackson, AL to the parentage of the late Edward Clarke, Sr., and the late Francis Inez Williams Clarke. He departed this life January 23, 2019 at Mobile Infirmary Medical Center, Mobile, AL “Blue”, as he was affectionately known, was employed for more than 25 years as a welder with M.W. Smith Lumber Mill (currently Boise Cascade). Due to his health, he elected to take early retirement.
His favorite hobby was fishing. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, James “Red” McReynolds, and a son, Derek Ridgeway. He will always be remembered by his loving and devoted wife of 44 years, Veronica Faye Ezell Clarke of Jackson, AL; son, Montae Maurice (Tania) Clarke of Los Angeles, CA; one daughter, Erica Elaine Clarke of Birmingham, AL; sons, Adrian (Tonya) Bettis of Birmingham, AL; Eriskey (Keta) Crowell of Jackson, AL; and Ahmaad Chapman of Jackson, AL; eight brothers, Mack Clarke of Foley, AL; Matthew Shannon Clarke of Bay Minette, AL; Willie Dale (Sandy) Clarke of Jackson AL; Andre’ (Pam) Clarke of Birmingham, AL; Mark (Van) Clarke and Reginald (Rosa) Clarke of Grove Hill, AL; Ernest (Carolyn) McReynolds of Jackson, AL, and Larry McReynolds of Jackson, AL; six sisters, Edith Tarrant of Birmingham, AL; Shelia Clarke of Gautier, MS; Lina Clarke of New Orleans, LA; Francis Clarke of Jackson, AL; Tracy Leonard of Birmingham, AL, and Dorothy Mae Williams of Chicago, IL.
A host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends will also miss him dearly. Viewing Friday, Feb. 1, 2019, 2-6pm at Andrews Funeral Home; viewing Saturday, Feb.
2, 2019, 11am until the 12 noon service at AOH Church of God, 328 Davis Avenue, Jackson, AL; Overseer Frank Mitchell, pastor and eulogist. Following the interment ceremony in Woodlawn Cemetery, Jackson, AL, the family will receive friends in the dining hall of the church.
