Edward Guerdan Of Monroeville, age 78, died on Friday, April 27, 2018. Ed was born on October 21, 1939 to Dikran A. and Denise Claudine (Godet) Guerdan. Ed’s father was an Engineer with Westinghouse.

His father’s success with multiple patents set an example for the career path Ed would one day choose. He became a second-generation Electrical Engineer. After graduating high school, Ed attended Carnegie Tech (Carnegie Mellon) and earned his Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering.

He went on to work as an Electrical Engineer with numerous companies; General Electric, General Motors, and Westinghouse were some of the focal points of his career. Ed’s career as an engineer did not end with his daily shifts at work. He enjoyed wood-working, and engineering contraptions at home for his family.

While working in New York, Ed met his future wife. They lived in the same apartment building while they were both starting their careers. Ed married Robin (Lewis) Guerdan and was her devoted and loving husband for 54 years.

Ed’s friends and family were very important to him. He was the loving father of Audrey (Joe) Petrick of Greensburg, and Tracy (Tom) Deen of Plum; Proud grandfather of Josh, Zack, and Rachel Petrick, and Kennedy Deen; Cherished brother of Anita (Larry) Samples of Hummelstown PA, and Doris (Pete) Klobuchar of Blufftown SC and numerous nieces and nephews. One of Ed’s favorite hobbies was traveling with his family.

He enjoyed family camping trips, and numerous voyages around the world with his wife. Ed also loved a good round of golf with his friends at Manor Valley Golf Course. He was devoted to his family and friends and will be dearly missed.

To honor Ed’s wishes there will be no visitation. A private celebration of his life will be held with his immediate family. His arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Patrick T. Lanigan Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., Turtle Creek/Monroeville Chapel, 1111 Monroeville Ave.
