Mr. Edward Sims Sr November 11, 1927 – February 04, 2019 Share this obituary Send Sympathy Gifts Sign Guestbook| Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card SERVICES: Thursday, February 7, 2019 Jones and Son Chapel/Beaumont 10:00 a.m. INTERMENT: Beaumont Cemetery VISITATION: Wednesday, February 6, 2019 Jones and Son Funeral Home 5:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on February 7, 2019 at Jones and Son Chapel in Beaumont for Mr. Edward Lamar Sims Sr., age 91, of Beaumont. Mr. Sims passed away on February 4, 2019 at his residence. Bro.

Jason Powell and Bro. Phillip Marshall will officiate with burial to follow in the Beaumont Cemetery. Mr. Sims was preceded in death by his wife, Vivian Raenelle Sims; sisters, Edwina Breland, Edith McLeod; brothers, Williams Sims, Melvin Sims, Nockie Sims, Ednor Sims and Archie Sims.

He is survived by his son, Edward Lamar Sims Jr. (Connie) of Beaumont, daughters, Vivian Donna Sizemore of Petal, Nell Diann Rogers (Joe) of McLain, Kathy Raenita Miller of Seminary; 9 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; multiple great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews. Mr. Sims was a member of the First Baptist Church of Beaumont. He was the owner/operator of Sims Service Station for over 50 years and served 2 terms as a Perry County Supervisor of Beat 5.

He was a member of the Beaumont Masonic Lodge and an avid hunter, fisherman and gardener. Visitation will be Wednesday, February 6, 2019, 5:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. at Jones and Son Funeral Home in Beaumont.
