Edythe B. Cordellos at the age of 79 died May 27, 2018 in Sonoma CA after a long and adventurous life. Edythe was born May 23, 1921 in San Francisco, CA to Edith and Andrew LaGran. In High school she met and married Thomas Cordellos.

They had a son Tom Cordellos. While Thomas was enlisted in the Army during WWII, Edythe did her part as a driver for the Fort Mason Motor Pool. Her duties were to drive the Generals and she proudly served until Sept 14, 1946.

When Thomas returned from the war they worked together in the family market on 5th street. Edythe worked the breakfast and lunch counter. In 1958, they moved to Sonoma along with the family business.

In the 60’s she managed the Valley Mart Variety store which was located next to the Valley Mart grocery store. Edythe found her calling as a business woman. She was active in the Soroptimist of Sonoma as a Life member.

She was proud to be a Native Daughter, a member of the Republican Women and a volunteer for the Historical Society. One of the goals was to travel to every continent and when asked to join the Tomasini Travel Agency she did not hesitate. She was a vagabond at heart and naturally loved planning trips for others.

Edythe is survived by her two granddaughters, Michel Cordellos, Cherie Cordellos, sister Catherine Sowden, sister in laws Frances Anderson and June Cordellos, along with numerous nieces and nephews. Graveside service is scheduled June 8, 2018, 11 AM at Cypress Lawn, Colma CA. Donations can be sent to Hospice By The Bay, Sonoma.
