MONONA-Eileen B. Wienke, age 94, of Monona, passed away on Tuesday, April 17, 2018. She was born on March 16, 1924, in Aeskeaton, Wis. , the daughter of William and Lillian (Farrell) Clark.

Eileen graduated from Aeskeaton High School. She began studying Journalism at Marquette University. She was united in marriage to John Wienke in 1946.

Eileen worked as a salesperson for Ed Phillips and Son until her retirement. She enjoyed traveling with her husband, walking,… Read More » reading, and was part of the book club while living at Heritage. Eileen spent many summers at the family cabin, and cheered on the Packers with her family every Sunday.

She is survived by her children; Paul (Gloria) Wienke, Linda (Kendall) Corbett, James (Debby) Wienke, Janis Wienke, William (Colette) Wienke and John Wienke; 11 grandchildren, Anna Wienke, Keith (Heather) Wienke, Sarah Corbett, Megan (Ernie) Allington, and Michael (Amber) Corbett, Clint and Cody Wienke, Breanna Wienke, Austin (Kelli) Wienke, Erica Wienke, Robert Wienke, Kyle and Tyler Wienke; six great-grandchildren Dylan and Jack Corbett, Penelope and Corbyn Wienke, and Alden and Elliot Allington; brother, Donald (Joan) Clark; and sisters, Kate (James) Vander Hyden and Monica Penza. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John; daughter, Bette Wienke; daughter-in-law, Joan Wienke; sister, Mary Clark; and brother, Patrick Clark. Memorial services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 5203 Monona Dr., at 11 a.m. on Monday, April 23, 2018, with Reverend Clara D. Thompson presiding.

Burial will be held at Roselawn Memorial Park at a later date. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service on Monday. Memorials may be made to the donor’s choice in Eileen’s name.

The family would like to especially thank Dr. Sansone and the nursing staff at 3 Southwest, and the staff at Belmont Nursing Home. “Rest easy Grandma, heaven gained a tiny angel today”.
