LODI- John David Steffenhagen, age 72, passed away on Tuesday, April 10, 2018 at SSM Hospice House, Baraboo. He was born on September 9, 1945, in Poynette, the son of Hilbert and Neoma Steffenhagen. John married Bonnie Jean Gadient on February 5, 1972 in Lodi.

He was a 1963 graduate of Lodi High School. John was a beef and grain farmer on the Arlington Prairie. He was on the Lodi School Board as well as a Church Council member.

John is survived by his wife, Bonnie; children, Nathan Steffenhagen, Katie (Justin) Packard, Daniel Steffenhagen, Michael (Jamie) Steffenhagen; grandchildren, Jordan and Max Packard and Maddie and Charlie Steffenhagen, mother-in-law, Berdell Gadient “her favorite”; sisters and brothers-in-law, Wayne (Brenda) Gadient, Barbara (John) Nei, Betty (Kurt) Thomforde, Alan (Nancy) Gadient, Tom Richter, Robert Jr. (Mary) Gadient, Steven (Sue) Gadient, Annette Gadient, Dennis (Sheila) Gadient, Andrew (Debbie) Gadient and Laura (Brian) Sweet. He was preceded in death by his parents, Hilbert and Neoma Steffenhagen; father-in-law, Robert Gadient and sister-in-law, Marilyn Richter. Funeral Services will be held at ST.

PETER’S LUTHERAN CHURCH, 303 Park St., Arlington, at 11am, Friday, April 13, 2018 with Reverend Christopher Amen presiding. Visitation will be held from 9:30am until the time of the service at the church. A luncheon will follow the service at the Arlington Community Center.
