MADISON-Dale D. Gulrud, age 81, passed away on Thursday, May 10, 2018, at Oak Park Place. He was born on Feb. 26, 1937, in Madison, the son of Carl and Minnie (Skaim) Gulrud.

Dale graduated from Central High School in 1956. He proudly served in the U.S. Army. Dale was united in marriage to Virginia Borth on Nov.

He was the embodiment of Christian love with a special focus on all children. Dale embraced the Right for Life and was devoted to helping all children he came in contact with. Dale and Virginia enjoyed dancing together or simply going on long drives together.

He always put others before himself, and was a patient and kind man. Dale is survived by his wife, Virginia; children, Hope (Ralph Jr.) Weichbrod, Cody (Nidia) Gulrud, Pam (James) Little and Bethany (Simon) Birch; grandchildren, Alejandro (Megan) Roldan, Isaac Birch, Derek Gulrud, Juan-David Gulrud and Bridget Johnson; great-grandchildren, Joseph Jobe Jr. and Mateo Roldan; sisters, Ann (Ed) Damon and Marcia (DuWayne) Zimmermann; sisters-in-law, Evelyn Gulrud, Pat Gulrud, Audrey Lou Schwichtenberg and Carol Heidemann; brothers-in-law, Gordon Borth, Marvin (Janice) Borth, Everette (Marleen) Borth and Randy Jensen; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Curt, Audrin, Ordell, Spencer and Roger Gulrud; parents-in-law, Edward and Herta Borth; brother-in-law, Franklin Borth; and sisters-in-law, Emily Borth and Arlyss Jensen.

Funeral services will be held at HOLY CROSS LUTHERAN CHURCH, 734 Holy Cross Way, Madison, at 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 19, 2018, with the Rev. Mark Bartels presiding. Burial will be held at Watertown Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery.

Visitation will be held at the church from 11 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Holy Cross Lutheran Church. Online condolences may be made at www.
