MADISON-Norma Marilyn Buse, age 92, of Oakwood Village, University Woods, Madison, passed away on June 26, 2018 at Agrace HospiceCare, Fitchburg surrounded by her immediate family. Norma was born in Nevada, Iowa on February 1, 1926 to Laura Elsie (Williams) and Chester Von Neeld. Her family settled on a farm near McCallsburg, Iowa where she spent her formative years and graduated from McCallsburg High School.

Upon graduation she traveled to Oakland, California to marry her high school sweetheart,… Read More » Donald Linn, who was stationed in the U.S. Navy. After military service they returned to Radcliffe, Iowa to farm. Norma was active in the community and church activities.

She was a skilled homemaker and a skilled seamstress, making most of her daughters’ school and dress clothes. Donald passed away on August 9, 1969. To this union three children were born, Wesley, Virginia and Donna.

In the summer of 1979, Norma moved to Madison, WI. She married Rueben C. Buse on September 3, 1983. During their 35 years of marriage they enjoyed touring the U.S., visiting family and friends and famous sites.

Many winters were spent in Florida and Arizona. They toured parts of Europe, South America, and Alaska. They enjoyed many trips to northern Canada on fishing expeditions; as well as touring by way of a Honda Motorcycle.

Norma worked in various retail shops and volunteered many years at the Lutheran House of Thrift resale shop and is a member of the the Lutheran Church of The Living Christ. She enjoyed visiting her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Her hobbies included sewing, gardening, bird and wildlife watching.

Norma was always the life of a party, loved to dance and have a good time. Her life was complete with a loving husband, family and friends. She leaves behind to mourn: her husband, Rueben C. Buse, “her rock, companion, confidante’ and soulmate”; a brother, Kenneth Neeld, Nora Springs, IA.

; a sister, Shirley (Roger) Harper, South Daytona Beach, FL. ; her children: Wesley Paul (Kathy) Linn, Raleigh, NC. , Virginia Louise (Terrence) Riker, Sturgeon Bay, and Donna Kay (Steven) White Tipp City, OH.

; step-children, Charles (Ruth Bronston) Buse, Madison and Paul (Susan) Buse, Hollywood, FL; grandchildren, Dawn Riker, Ft. Lauderdale, FL. , Angela Riker (Robert Weinswig, Partner), Verona, Jason (Meredith) White, Columbus, OH.

, Courtney (Chad) Snyder, Tipp City, OH. , and Kenneth (Kristen) Linn, Zebulon, NC; step-grandchildren, Kristin (Fritz) Bratschie, Vail, CO. and Michael Buse, Hollywood, FL.

; great-grandchildren, Lily Quinn O’Sheridan, Josephine Claire O’Sheridan, (Angela Riker); Lacie Ann Snyder, (Courtney and Chad Snyder); Carter William White, Campbell Ann White, (Jason and Meredith White); Landan Jace Linn, Noah Tanner Linn, and new baby due in October, (Kenneth and Kristen Linn). She is further survived by her many nieces, nephews, cousins and Oakwood friends. Norma was preceded in death by: her parents, Chester Von and Laura Elsie Neeld; her sisters, Virginia Neeld and Martha Lowell; and her first husband, Donald Linn.

A Memorial Service will be held at OAKWOOD CHAPEL, 6205 Mineral Point Road, Madison at 11 a.m., on Tuesday, July 10, 2018. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at Oakwood Chapel. The family gratefully thanks the staff and Nursing Assistants of Agrace HospiceCare, Inc., Fitchburg.
