MADISON- Robert “Bob” Rahman, age 91, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 7, 2018, at Oak Park Place. Bob was born on June 14, 1926, in New York. He joined the U.S. Navy at age 17.

Bob served on the aircraft Carrier U.S.S. Bunker Hill CV-17 during active engagement in the Pacific Theater in World War II. He later in life, found great enjoyment joining the other brave men at the Bunker Hill reunions. After returning home, Bob attended college and achieved a B.A. in journalism.

He was a policeman… Read More » in Washington D.C. and an announcer for various radio and TV stations. Bob retired happily from the UW Extension Department. Bob enjoyed the outdoors, hunting with his friends, riding his horse, Flash and riding his Gold Wing motorcycle with friends.

Camping trips to Washburn and Bayfield at the “Top Ten” were cherished times for Bob, and he often enjoyed exploring new sights with his camera. Bob is survived by his wife, Lea (Hart) Rahman of 39 years; and Barry Bauman, his dear friend for 54 years. He was preceded in death by his mother; sister, Tara Klaput; and nephew, Gary Klaput.
