WAUNAKEE-Michael John Murray, age 73, unexpectedly passed away on Sunday, June 10, 2018 at his home. He was born on April 5, 1945, in La Crosse, the son of Mary Murray. Michael was a 1963 graduate of LaCrosse Central High School.

He then was united in marriage to Kathy Chase on Jan. 20, 1968, in Beloit. Michael was employed with Warner Electric and Reynolds Wheels working as an Industrial Supervisor until his retirement.

Michael had a variety of interests including working… Read More » in his workshop, tending his yard and garden and fishing, but he truly treasured most the time he spent making memories with his family, especially with his grandchildren. His family was everything to him. In addition to Kathy his wife of 50 years, survivors include his three children, Sue (Shane) Luft, Mike (Denise) Murray and Cris (Dave Gustin) Hornagold; seven grandchildren, Tristan, Kaleb, Logan, Samantha, Andrew, Emily and Landon; two sisters, Linda Hoeth and Joyce (Blaine) Ottum; two brothers, Jerald (Sherry) Cooley and Terry (Tina) Cooley; several nieces, nephews and friends.

Michael was preceded in death by two sons-in-law, James Cruse and Trevor Hornagold; his mother Mary; his brothers, Phillip, James and Ronald and his sisters, Mary Alice and Ruby. A celebration of Michael’s life will be held at GUNDERSON WEST FUNERAL & CREMATION CARE, 7435 University Ave. , Middleton from 1 P.M. until 4 P.M., on Saturday, June 16, 2018.
