Fitchburg-Shirley Patricia Kukasky, age 70, peacefully passed away while surrounded by her family on Sunday, June 10, 2018. She was born to Stephen and Dolores (Stone) Kuthan on December 26, 1947, in Akron, Ohio and was a 1965 graduate of Barberton High School in Barberton, Ohio. On June 26, 1965, Shirley and Daniel Kukasky Jr. married at North Hampton Baptist Church in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio.

She made her faith in Jesus well known as she passionately served the Lord throughout her life. Shirley was full of life and spunk, always making everyone around her laugh.

She was a beloved wife, mother, nanna, friend, and mentor. She enjoyed spending time with her family, rollerskating, playing Canasta, being by the ocean, interpreting for the deaf, collecting purses, and visiting various lighthouses throughout the U.S. In addition to Pastor Dan, her husband of 53 years, survivors include her three children: Tammy (Pete) Cymbalak, Steven Kukasky, and Mary (Jay) Cummins; her five grandchildren: Haley (Enrique) Gandara, Caleb Cymbalak, Jack, Ava, and Ella Cummins; and her “sister”, Sherry David. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Karen Crites.

Visitation will be held at WEST MADISON BIBLE CHURCH, 2920 County Rd. M, Verona from 9:00 am until 11:00 am on Friday, June 15, 2018. Funeral services will follow at 11:30 am.

Burial will be held at Verona Cemetery, with a luncheon following after at West Madison Bible Church. Online condolences may be made at www. gundersonfh.com.
