Lodi-John G. Stevenson, age 92, of Lodi, passed away at his home unexpectedly on Wednesday, June 27, 2018. He was born on February 4, 1926, in Lodi, WI, the son of David and Ellen (Bissell) Stevenson. John graduated at the age of 17 from Lodi High School in 1943.

On July 16, 1948 he married Myrna Barden in Pardeeville, WI. John owned and operated his own farm and loved working the land with the help of his family. He was a long time member of First Presbyterian… Read More » Church.

His years of leadership including, Federal Land Bank 1966-1985, dairy and supply co-ops earned John the Cooperative Builder Award in 1987. He served for 20 years on the Columbia County Board and Central Wisconsin Community Action Coalition from 2001-2010 and 6 terms on Columbia County FSA board. John was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, hunting and curling; playing cards and visiting with his neighbors but loved most of all the time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In addition to Myrna, his wife of 70 years, survivors include his two sons, John A (Sharon) and Richard W (Charlotte); four grandchildren, Stacy (Jeff) Riechers, Chad (Emily) Stevenson, John R (Kim) Stevenson, Michelle (Brandon) Ballweg and 9 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death his parents, a brother and two sisters. Funeral services will be held at FIRST PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH, 258 Lodi St at 11:00 am on Monday July 2, 2018, with Rev.

Cyndi Wunder presiding. Burial will be held at Arlington Township Cemetery. Visitation will be held at GUNDERSON LODI FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 157 S. Main St., from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Sunday, July 1, 2018, and also at First Presbyterian Church from 10:00 am until the time of the service on Monday.

In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to the Lodi First Presbyterian Church or the Alzheimer’s and Dementia Alliance of Wisconsin. Online condolences may be made at www. gundersonfh.com.
