MADISON- Richard D. “Dick” Anderson, age 82, of Madison, Wis. , peacefully went to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 5, 2018, while at home surrounded by his loved ones. Dick was born on Nov.
9, 1935, in Minneapolis, Minn. , the son of Robert Hilding and Ethel (Swenson) Anderson. At the age of four, his family moved to Rockford, Ill.

… Read More » 4, 1955 and spent 62 happily married years of unwavering love and respect for one another while working together as a team to raise their family. Dick’s entire career was in the medical supply business. He worked his way from the bottom to the top retiring Vice-President from Badger Medical Supply when the company was sold in 1996.
He was a wonderful boss who helped many people secure good jobs. Upon his retirement Dick enjoyed giving back to his community by volunteering. He touched many lives through donating his time with Meals on Wheels, St. Mary’s Hospital, Salvation Army, the yearly Madison Children’s Museum benefit sale and at Door Creek Church.
Most of all, Dick enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Dick was known and loved for his wonderful sense of humor, optimism, kindness, story and joke telling, generosity, excellent counsel, wisdom, dedication to his family and his love for children and animals. Dick is survived by his loving wife, Marilyn; 3 children, Steven (Gayla) Anderson, Susan (Rob) Showers and Thom Anderson; grandchildren, Joe, Thomas (Jennifer), Shawn, Michael (Tapanee), Anna (Nate), Brandi, Biz and Matt; and great-grandson, Niko; sister, Judy Anderson; brothers and sisters-in-law and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and sisters, Jean and Phyllis. Funeral services will be held at DOOR CREEK CHURCH, 6601 Dominion Dr. (corner of Sprecher Rd. and Dominion Dr.) Madison, WI.
53718, at 11 a.m., on Thursday, May 10, 2018, with Pastor Cal Steiner presiding. Visitation will be held at the church from at 10 a.m. until time of the service on Thursday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Agrace HospiceCare or Salvation Army.
