MADISON- John W. “Jack” Rebholz, age 91, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, May 16, 2018. He was born on April 1, 1927, in Arpin, the son of William and Susan (Kaiser) Rebholz. He married Rose Benda on May 1, 1954, at St. John Catholic Church in Prairie du Chien.

He also spent many hours working and enjoying the family farm. Jack lived a life of service. He was a member of St. Bernard Catholic Church since 1954, and during this time he was an active volunteer, served as council president, was a member of the Knights of Columbus and attended daily Mass whenever possible.

He enjoyed bowling, softball and playing cards. Jack had a deep faith and love for his family. He had a great sense of humor and was an inspiration to everyone.

Jack is survived by his wife, Rose; children, Sue (Tim) Dyer, Judy (Kevin) Kraut, Jeanne (Steve) Preston, Gary (Becky) Rebholz and Barb (Kevin) Rau; daughter-in-law, Nancy Rebholz; 18 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; siblings, Roger (Ann), Sr. Teresa, Eva (Don) Strohmenger and Ann (Ken) Schroeder; and many nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Tom; son-in-law, Mark Bosben; and siblings, Joe, Arnie, Onie, Norm and Bill. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST.

BERNARD CATHOLIC CHURCH, 2450 Atwood Ave. , Madison, at 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 19, 2018, with Father Michael Radowicz presiding. Burial with Military Rites will be held at Roselawn Memorial Park.

Visitation will be held at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the Mass on Saturday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Bernard Catholic Church or a charity of the donor’s choice. The family wishes to thank all of the friends and neighbors for their help, care and support.
