Obituary for Elaine M. Poulson Elaine M. Poulson RACINE – Elaine Margaret (nee: Kitto) Poulson, 96, our dear “Mimi”, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 25, 2018 in her home. Elaine was a lifelong resident of Racine, born on October 19, 1921, the daughter of the late Stanley and Irene (nee: Pendell) Kitto. Elaine was a 1938 graduate of St. Catherine’s High School, and went on to receive her bachelor’s degree cum laude in business administration from Mt.

Mary College in 1942. Elaine worked at Belle City and Racine Steel Castings as an Administrative Assistant from 1943-1962. While working at Belle City she met her husband, T.Earl (Murphy) Poulson.

They were married on March 3, 1962, at St. John Nepomuk Church. Together they enjoyed travel, family, golf and friendship at Meadowbrook Country Club. She served as a volunteer in various capacities at Wheaton Hospital from 1964-2014.

She also served in leadership volunteer roles with the Racine United Way, the Racine YMCA and Meadowbrook Country Club Women’s Association. Elaine was a member of St. John Nepomuk Church. Over the years Elaine enjoyed loyal friendships, family, reading, and mastering her crossword puzzles.

Elaine is survived by her stepson, Jack (Lori) Poulson of Madison; grandchildren, Amanda Poulson of Madison, Rebecca (Jake) Brucker of San Diego, CA, Craig Poulson of Silver Spring, MD, and Amy (Steven) Dauplaise of St. Paul, MN; great grandchildren, Georgie, Ruby, and Max Brucker, and Christopher, Elizabeth, and Theodore Poulson; sister, Marion (Robert) Prochniak of De Pere; nieces and nephews, Julie (Dave) Marie, Todd Prochniak, Mary Prochniak, John (Brenda) Prochniak; great nieces and nephews, Derek and Carissa Marie, Ethan Beatty, John (Murphy), Andrew and Alec Prochniak; great great nephew Jayce Marie. Elaine was preceded in death by her husband T.Earl on December 14, 1974, and stepson, Earl (Dawn) Poulson and brother-in-law, Robert Prochniak. Funeral services will be held at Sturino Funeral Home on Monday, April 30, 2018 at 11 a.m. Visitation will take place at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the time of service.

Memorials to one’s favorite charity has been suggested by the family. Many thanks to “Team Elaine” (Kat, Cheryl, Cindy) and her neighbors that brought much support, joy and happiness to Elaine during the last few months. Elaine will be remembered as a kind, generous, thoughtful, fun, and loving sister, aunt, step-mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend.
