Elberda “Bertie” Mae Lawrence, 89, of Nabb, IN, passed away on Friday, April 20, 2018 at Campbells Private Care in New Washington, IN. She was born on July 29, 1928 to Herman and Pearlie (Amick) Clapp in Clark Co., IN. She was a retired teacher’s aide and library worker for New Washington Schools, former chaplain for the New Washington Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary, and member of the New Washington Christian Church.

She is preceded in death by her husband, James Lawrence; son, Larry Lawrence; siblings, Opal Bower, and Viola Greene. Survivors include her daughter, Joyce Norris (Henry) of Nabb, IN; daughter-in-law, Linda Lawrence of Nabb, IN; grandchildren, Michael Lawrence (Emma) of Nabb, IN, and Nathan Bourland (Kadi) of Nabb, IN; great-grandchildren, Olivia Lawrence, Kaylee Lawrence, and River Kate Bourland. Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 23, 2018 at 11am at the Grayson Funeral Home in New Washington, with burial in Crown Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will begin on Sunday from 12pm to 5pm, and after 9am on Monday.
