Obituary for Elberta D. Totten (Dodd) BALLSTON LAKE – Elberta LaBarge Totten, 91, of Premont Way, died Tuesday, Dec. 18th at Saratoga Hospital. Born in Quaker Springs, Nov 30, 1927, she was daughter of the late Percival and Harriet Dodd, and was a graduate of Mechanicville High School.
Elberta was a hair dresser who ran her own shop, Berta’s Beauty Salon for 35 years. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, enjoyed working with crafts, and was a member of Stillwater United Church. She was predeceased by her first husband, Charles “Chet” LaBarge in 1993, and her sisters Hazel Flatley and Beulah Hodgson.
Survivors include her husband of 22 years, Thomas Totten, daughter Beth (Dan Cyr) Emigh of Mechanicville and son Dodd (Dorothy) LaBarge of Nebraska. Four grandsons Damon and Deric LaBarge, Kevin and Kyle Emigh. Also a sister Janet Schultz of Stillwater and brother Percy Dodd of Malta, along with nieces, nephews and their families.
A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday at 3 PM at the DeVito-Salvadore Funeral Home, 39 So. Main St., Mechanicville. Calling hours at the Funeral Home on Saturday from 1 – 3 PM.
