Eleanor A. (Jablinskey) Vorce, 89, of Harbor Springs, died June 24, 2018 at Bay Bluff’s Medical Care Facility in Harbor Springs. Eleanor was born May 16, 1929 in Harbor Springs to James and Marietta “Pansy” (DuVall) Jablinskey. She grew up in Harbor Springs on Crystal Dairy Farm and graduated from Harbor Springs public school in 1947.

On May 7, 1955, she married Garth H. Vorce at Holy Cross Church in Cross Village. Garth preceded Eleanor in death on October 22, 1994. Eleanor worked for the bait and tackle shop in Harbor Springs before marriage.

She worked at Nubs Nob and had many fond stories she shared with her family. She enjoyed needlepoint and made Christmas stockings for her grandchildren and friend’s children. When her grandchildren visited her smile lit up the room.

She loved to dance and play cards. She was a member of Holy Childhood of Jesus Church. She is survived by her four children, Debra (Kurt) Schirmer, Patty (Barry) Sutton, Kenneth (Barb) Vorce, and Phillip (Jackie) Vorce; seven grandchildren, Alyse, Tyler, Casey Schirmer, Michael Sutton, Lexi, Garth and Robert Vorce, all of Harbor Springs, MI; two sisters, Isabel Raad of Taylor, MI and Betty Lou Reinke of Onaway, MI; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death her sister Dora (Hans) Lantzsch; brother-in-law, John Raad, Sr.; nephew, Johnny Raad; and niece Nancy Smith. There will be a visitation on Thursday, June 28, 2018 at Holy Childhood of Jesus Church from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. and again on Friday, June 29, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass. Memorial Mass will be held Friday, June 29, 2018 at Holy Childhood of Jesus Church at 11:00 a.m. Father Joe Graff will officiate.
