Obituary for Eleanor Ford Eleanor Catherine Ford (Scotty) December 25, 1928 – June 28, 2018 Beloved wife, mother and grandmother, Eleanor (known as Scotty) passed away peacefully on June 28, 2018 Scotty was born in New York City, Christmas Day, 1928. She was raised by parents: Anna and Malcolm Scott, along with her brother Raymond. Scotty lived most her life in Rockland County becoming a true native.
She married Richard Ford on March 28, 1948. She dearly loved her husband of 63 years. They had two children, Scott and Nancy.
The family moved to Lenox, MA and then onto South Hampton, NY in the early 60’s. Scotty thoroughly cherished the small town charm and beauty of both communities. She enjoyed a long and successful career with Verizon which spanned over 45 years.
A high point in Scotty’s time at Verizon, was as Manager of Human Rerdzt/s. A title that she took to heart as she happily welcomed thousand of new hires into Verizon. Long after her retirement, she is still remembered with great fondness and gratitude.
Scotty was beloved by everyone. Always quick to make new friends and remain true to all that knew her. With a smile on her face, she had a lust for life, and always delighted in doing for others.
Scotty is survived by her children, Scott and Nancy along with her husband Lance. Her loving grandchildren include; Tyler, James, Charlotte, Lindsay and Austin. Scotty is predeceased by her beloved husband, Dick, and brother, Raymond.
Devoted, with a great love and affection for all of her nieces and nephews. Eleanor (Scotty) will be greatly missed by all. Visiting will take place on Monday from 4 PM to 8 PM at the Hannemann Funeral Home, Inc. in Nyack.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday at 10 AM at St. Catharine’s RC Church in Blauvelt. Interment will follow at St. Anthony’s Cemetery in Nanuet, NY. Hanneman Funeral Home, Inc.
